Rotary Drum Filter for Industrial & Municipal Wastewater Treatment
Rotary Drum Filter is an efficient mechanical screening system designed for continuous solid-liquid separation in wastewater treatment applications. It removes suspended solids, fibers, plastics, food residues, and other debris before biological treatment. It helping reduce COD, BOD, and TSS while protecting downstream equipment.
As a professional Rotary Drum Filter manufacturer, we provide customized screening solutions for municipal wastewater plants and industrial wastewater treatment projects worldwide. Our equipment features high filtration efficiency, low energy consumption, automatic cleaning, and long service life.
Whether you are designing a new wastewater treatment plant or upgrading an existing system, our Rotary Drum Filter provides reliable pretreatment performance for a wide range of industries.
Why Choose Our Rotary Drum Filter?
- High Screening Efficiency: The wedge wire or perforated drum provides precise filtration with opening sizes ranging from 0.25 mm to 5 mm, ensuring excellent removal of suspended solids.
- Automatic Self-Cleaning: Integrated spray nozzles continuously clean the filter surface, preventing clogging and minimizing maintenance requirements.
- Low Energy Consumption: Driven by a high-efficiency geared motor, the drum rotates only when necessary, significantly reducing operational costs.
- Continuous Operation: Designed for 24/7 operation with stable performance and minimal operator intervention.
- Compact Design: The equipment requires limited installation space and can be easily integrated into existing wastewater treatment systems.
- Corrosion Resistant: Manufactured from SS304 or SS316 stainless steel, ensuring excellent resistance to corrosion and long service life even under harsh wastewater conditions.
- Customizable Design: Available in multiple capacities, drum diameters, screen sizes, and installation configurations to meet project-specific requirements.
The Rotary Drum Screen consists of:
- Drum of perforated media
- External spray system
- Flow distribution pipe
- Support structure with trunnion wheels
- Removable enclosures
- Drum drive system composed of a gear motor and that eliminates chain maintenance.
- Support structure and all wetted parts available in 304 or 316 stainless steel.
Working Principle
The Rotary Drum Filter works through continuous mechanical screening.
Wastewater enters the inlet chamber and flows into the rotating drum. As water passes through the screen openings, suspended solids are retained on the drum surface.
The rotating drum transports the captured solids toward the discharge area where high-pressure spray nozzles wash them into a collection hopper.
Clean water exits through the outlet while screened waste is discharged for further handling.
This automatic process enables uninterrupted filtration with minimal manual maintenance.
